HVS Brokerage & Advisory announces the sale of the 59-key Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hazelton/Bruceton Mills, located in Hazelton, West Virginia.
HOUSTON, TX, May 22, 2026: HVS Brokerage & Advisory announces the sale of the 59-key Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hazelton/Bruceton Mills, located at 886 Casteel Road, Hazelton, West Virginia 26525.
 
The property, built in 2007, was purchased by Aby Management LLC, based in Hazelton, West Virginia, from Mountain View Hotel Management LLC, based in Warrenton, Virginia.
 
Neha Jadhav, Managing Member of Mountain View Hotel Management LLC, commented, "We faced some unique challenges on our end, and when those were combined with a significant franchise PIP, the transaction became highly complex. The HVS team truly thought outside the box. They leveraged the Ten-X platform to maximize auction activity and then navigated a creative, phased transition to get the deal across the finish line. We are grateful for their dedication and ability to deliver when a standard approach simply wouldn't work."
 
The property benefits from its location along Interstate 68 (I-68), positioned between Morgantown, West Virginia, and Cumberland, Maryland, with convenient access to Morgantown, home to West Virginia University (WVU). WVU's Morgantown campus enrolls approximately 28,000 students annually and attracts visitors year-round for academic and sporting events, as well as conferences, providing steady demand for accommodations. The hotel’s proximity to major outdoor recreational areas, combined with its easy access off I-68, makes it an ideal stopover for travelers looking to experience West Virginia’s unspoiled wilderness and some of the region’s most spectacular outdoor experiences. The property is also the closest lodging accommodation to the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Hazelton, a three-prison, federal penitentiary complex (2,000 inmates), which drives year-round visitation demand.
 
“This deal required finding the exact right buyer profile: a hands-on owner-operator ready to take on a large Wyndham PIP and turn around an absentee-owned hotel. We utilized the Ten-X platform to cast a wide net and drive a competitive auction. When deal complexities arose during escrow, our team negotiated a creative, phased closing structure to bridge the gap between both parties. This is the second time this year we have created an out-of-the-box solution to get a challenging deal across the finish line,” said James Rebullida, Senior Vice President of HVS Brokerage & Advisory.
