Susan Furbay is a Senior Vice President with HVS Executive Search, based in Washington, D.C. She has over 25 years of experience in hospitality investment through her work as a broker, a lender, and, most recently, a Vice President of Business Development at HVS Consulting & Valuations. Having served in a business development role throughout her hospitality real estate career, Susan has developed strong relationships with private equity groups, REITs, brokers, lenders, third-party operators, brands, and individual owner/operators throughout the country.
 
Susan’s wide array of experience in hospitality real estate has provided her a keen understanding of different organizational structures, and her familiarity with various positions and their required duties is instrumental in finding the right candidates for her clients. With her active involvement in various organizations, guest lecturer appearances at hotel academic programs, and authoring of numerous articles, Susan shows her passion for the industry. She brings this enthusiasm and commitment to her clients as she advises and assists them in building the best team.
 
Susan is the proud mother of two teenagers and enjoys long hikes with her Labradoodle. She is an avid runner and loves all kinds of workouts, including boxing, biking, and lifting weights. Susan is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
