Cycas Hospitality Acquires Staybridge Suites Newcastle

Hotel management company Cycas Hospitality has purchased the Staybridge Suites Newcastle, in the northeast England city of Newcastle upon Tyne, for an undisclosed sum. The 128-suite hotel, on Buxton Street, will continue to operate under its current brand, and it will be the fifth UK Staybridge Suites property managed by Cycas (one hotel in Liverpool, two in London and a hotel in Manchester due to open in 2017). Commenting on the group’s latest acquisition, Eduard Elias, managing partner of Cycas, said, “The city is well positioned on the high-speed East Coast mainline so most of the UK’s city hubs are just a short train ride away. New intercity trains are also due to run between Liverpool and Newcastle by December 2017. Newcastle’s accessibility, its skilled workforce and the presence of strong international companies makes it a natural fit for the extended-stay hotel market.”
