Bangkok Airways and Qatar Airways have begun their codeshare agreement, which will cover selected flights in Thailand and within the region. Under this agreement, Qatar Airways' passengers travelling to Bangkok will have better connections for their onward journey within Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar. Likewise Bangkok Airways' passengers travelling from Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Trat, Sukhothai, Lampang, Krabi, Phnom Penh and Yangon will be able to transit in Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport onto Doha with Qatar Airways.

Best Western Premier has debuted in Perth with the Best Western Premier The Terrace Hotel. The hotel is located in St George's House, a heritage-listed building in the West End of Perth's Central Business District and features 15 suites. The property also includes a restaurant, the Rear Bar & Terrace, and a wine vault with a tasting room featuring more than 300 wines. This is the second Best Western Premier property in Australia, after the opening of the Best Western Premier Hotel 115 Kew in Melbourne in 2012. Best Western now operates all three of its brands - Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier, in Australia.

The city of Bandung has set up the Bandung Tourism Promotion Board (BTPB) to develop and promote the city's tourism industry. The Bandung municipal government has provided a start-up capital of IDR7 billion (US$721,649) and the first initiative will be to develop a database on the attractions in Bandung and to create a travel planner on the city. The board of BTPB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Basis Bay Singapore to develop Bandung's database. BTPB will work closely with the provincial promotion board, West Java Tourism Promotion Board, to promote West Java, while creating and promoting unique aspects of Bandung. BTPM will focus on ecotourism, city tours, science and health tourism and Bandung's government is planning on developing greater accessibility for tourists within the city. |

Sri Lankan travel company, Jetwing, has debuted Hotel J - the company's new domestic budget hotel brand, marking Jetwing's entrance into the budget hotel segment. The brand's first property, Hotel J Negombo, is located in Negombo, a west coast town in Sri Lanka and features 35 rooms and 1 suite. Facilities in the hotel include Wi-Fi, restaurant, bar and a swimming pool. Jetwing plans on opening future Hotel J properties in other key resort destinations and currently operates 16 properties in Sri Lanka under its Jetwing Hotels brand and will open an additional five properties in the next two years. |

Accor has announced the debut of its upscale brand, Pullman, in Phuket. Located on Phuket's west coast on Naithon Beach, the Pullman Phuket Arcadia features 277 rooms with tropical gardens, waterfalls and views of the Andaman Sea. The property features seven food and beverage outlets, the Dhatri Spa and five meeting rooms and a 389 square metre ballroom. The Pullman Phuket Arcadia also offers outdoor function areas and a dedicated events manager to tap into the meeting and incentive market in Phuket. This is the fifth Pullman property in Thailand, while the brand operates over 40 properties in Asia Pacific with a further 40 in the pipeline. |
