Marriott Revamps Logo for Modernisation Return to Headlines
Marriott has revamped its logo in line with its major global rebranding initiative and modernisation of the brand. The revamped branding is part of Marriott's new marketing campaign, "Travel Brilliantly" which is targeted at the next generation of travellers. The new campaign will include TV, digital and mobile advertising, the new logo and enhanced social media platforms. Marriott will also launch a new website to showcase the brand's innovations and gather new ideas from influencers, experts and travelling consumer enthusiasts. In addition to the branding work, Marriott will also undertake a major renovation of its hotel lobbies, which will be redesigned as high-technology social areas for the modern traveller to work and socialise.

Far East's Quincy Joins Lagoi Bay Return to Headlines

Far East Hospitality-owned chain Quincy Hotel, Residences and Suites is the latest brand to join Bintan's Lagoi Bay development and will form part of The Heritage Bintan project. Quincy will make its debut in Indonesia with the management of the 218-key property, which will be built by Stareast Sejahtera and will be located within the 1.6 hectare The Heritage Bintan development. The Heritage Bintan is expected to be completed in April 2015 and will be located adjacent to the Bintan Market Place and in close proximity to the Swiss-Belhotel Lagoi Bay, Bintan. Phase one of Lagoi Bay will be completed by the end of 2013, which will see the opening of The Plaza Lagoi and The Sanchaya.

 
Tune Opens Headquarters in Melbourne Return to Headlines

Tune Hotels has announced plans to enter Melbourne and to open its first property and operational headquarters in the city. The Tune Hotel Melbourne is scheduled to open in November 2013 and the 225-room property will mark the brand's entry into Australia and New Zealand. Similarly, the new operational headquarters will oversee business in Australia and New Zealand and will work in conjunction with Tune's corporate office in Kuala Lumpur.

 
Cinnamon Air Takes to the Skies as Sri Lanka's Newest Domestic Airline Return to Headlines
Cinnamon Air, the newest domestic airline in Sri Lanka, will take to the skies at the end of June 2013. The airline is owned and operated by Saffron Aviation, a joint venture between John Keells Holdings and two other local companies. Most of the airline's flights will cover the southern and central part of Sri Lanka, including Koggala, Dickwella and Kandy. Other scheduled destinations include Sigiriya, Batticaloa and Trincomalee. The airline aims to cut travel time to outlying area in Sri Lanka and will co-ordinate flight timings with that of SriLankan Airlines and most major international carriers serving the Bandaranaike International Airport.
 
Subic Bay, Philippines to Get Integrated Resort Return to Headlines
Subic Bay Area will be home to the latest integrated resort in Philippines, which is expected to be completed in four years and will cost 20 billion pesos (US$462.3 million). Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority has signed an agreement with South Korea-owned Resom Resort Philippines to develop the new integrated resort, which completed in phases. Phase one will comprise of a 300-room luxury hotel, convention facilities, pool, spa, restaurants amongst other facilities and is expected to be completed in time for the APEC summit in November 2015. Phase two will include the construction of more hotels, condominiums, theme and water parks, casino and gaming operations and a golf course amongst others.
