Bobby’s efforts in stakeholder relations in the North Charleston hospitality community earned him a “Forty Under 40” award from the Charleston Regional Business Journal. His prior experience in hospitality includes government and citywide convention sales for the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau, where he assisted in securing conferences and government business generating more than $20 million in annual economic impact. He formerly served as an Account Executive with Marriott International’s Global Sales team, working to capture approximately 60,000 room annual nights in government demand for Marriott properties in South Carolina. As a Sales Manager with the Courtyard by Marriott in Charleston, Bobby developed short- and long-term sales strategies and grew annual account production by 200%. Bobby holds a BS in Business Administration: Hospitality and Tourism Management from the College of Charleston.
Bobby came to Charleston with his family in 1986 and has called the city home ever since. Based out of Joint Base Charleston, Bobby has served as a non-commissioned officer with the U.S. Air Force Reserve since March 2010, working in the field of public affairs. He also conceptualized and cofounded Cakes by Kasarda, a boutique bakery in Charleston, melding his business acumen with his partner’s culinary craft.
