Daniel MacDonnell is a Managing Director for HVS Brokerage & Advisory, focusing on providing a full suite of debt/equity financing and investment sale advisory solutions for HVS hospitality real estate investment clients across the nation and in key international markets.
Prior to joining HVS, Dan was the lead real estate investment banker in over 50 transactions valued in excess of $5 billion, involving a myriad of successful debt financings, investment sales, private placements, joint ventures, discretionary funds, and M&A assignments in the hospitality and gaming sectors. As a Senior Managing Director and Securities Principal at Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Hospitality Group, he focused on expanding the firm's investment sales, debt, equity, and structured finance business, including programmatic joint ventures and investment funds. Before that, he was a Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Division of Bank of America Securities and a member of Lehman Brothers Investment Banking Group.
Dan is a frequent moderator and panelist at conferences and webinars on the topics of hospitality finance/sales, large-scale mixed-use capitalization and structures that include commingled funds, programmatic joint ventures, and entity-level capital raises. He holds a bachelor's degree from Williams College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Dan is a CFA and member of New York Society of Certified Financial Analysts, a former member of the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher School of Real Estate & Urban Economics, a registered California Real Estate Broker, and a member of the NASD as a Securities Principal.
