The 2015 Hospitality Law Conference

Intensive Education. Exceptional Networking. It's Not Just for Lawyers.

From development deals to management agreements, from food and beverage liability to labor and employment, and from claims management to anti-trust issues, the latest cases, trends and challenges in compliance, finance, law, risk, safety, and security are up for exploration at the 13th Annual Hospitality Law Conference, February 9-11, 2015 at Houston’s Royal Sonesta Hotel.

The Owner Management Summit, co-located with the Hospitality Law Conference and hosted by Vicki Richman and Bill Doyle of HVS Hotel Management and HVS Asset Management - Newport, intersects legal, finance and technology. Sessions include: Putting a Mixed-Use Deal Together; Getting a Divorce: Unwinding the Owner-Management Relationship; and, Who Owns and is Responsible for the Data?

The Hospitality Insurance and Loss Prevention Summit, also co-located with the Hospitality Law Conference, includes sessions on risk management, the top claims in 2014, and worker's compensation.

Hotel and Restaurant Corporate Counsel have several opportunities to meet privately with their peers in facilitated conversations to explore common challenges, solutions and law department management.

Also featured during the Hospitality Law Conference are Breakout Sessions and Roundtables on Food & Beverage, Lodging, and Human Resources & Labor Relations. Among them is a roundtable on the newly released 11th Edition of the Uniform System of Accounts for Lodging hosted by Arlene Ramirez, with the Hilton College at the University of Houston and HFTP and Vicki Richman who is on the committee that wrote the extensive update. This session will include a discussion of how changes will affect management agreements.

This is where legal, finance, risk, and technology intersect; this is where they converge in an effort to break down silos. Together, we do more deals, deliver safer products and services, and mitigate litigation. No other event gathers all the different aspects of the hospitality equation together for such a unique and effective dialogue.
