Indonesia hoteliers project revenue to grow by 10 per cent by 2016 Return to Headlines
A survey conducted at the Driving Hotel Revenue Indonesia Summit revealed that Indonesian hospitality professionals remain optimistic about revenue growth despite oversupply issues. This growth would be fuelled by the adoption of better operating processes and newer technologies that will enhance revenue management at the properties. Another survey highlight is that hoteliers are likely to reap significant benefits from digital hotel bookings with a 40 per cent increase in digital bookings forecast for 2016.

Centara Hotels & Resorts to debut in Laos with Centara Grand Hotel Vientiane Return to Headlines

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s largest operator of hotels will open its five-star luxurious Centara Grand Hotel Vientiane, its first hotel in Laos, in 2017. The property will be located in the downtown district of Vientiane, the Laotian capital. With this addition, Centara will have a total of 20 Grand hotels which are located in the Maldives, Vietnam, Bali, Mauritius, Shanghai, Addis-Abba, Doha and Thailand.

 
Anantara Emei Resort & Spa Opens Return to Headlines

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has launched Anantara Emei Resort & Spa at the foot of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province. The resort has 150-rooms and offers a range of F&B options and Spice Spoon, Anantara’s cooking classes. The resort also features 10 meeting and event venues that includes a ballroom, boardroom and private mah-jong rooms. This is the third Anantara resort in China after Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort & Spa, Yunnan and Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa on Hainan island.

 
SriLankan Airlines to introduce GSM and Wi-Fi services inflight Return to Headlines

SriLankan Airlines, due to join the oneworld alliance on 1st May, has signed up for OnAir’s in flight GSM and Wi-Fi services that will be installed on its six new A330-200 aircraft. By autumn, people flying from Colombo will be able to email, tweet, send text messages, make calls, and surf the internet during the flight. This global connection will be powered by Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband satellite network, the only service designed for both mobility and consistent global coverage.

 
SilkAir to launch Hangzhou Flights Return to Headlines

SilkAir will operate services to Hangzhou four times a week from 27th June 2014. This will be the airline’s eighth destination in China after Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Xiamen. The new services will be operated using the airline’s Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft featuring both Business and Economy Class.

 
Malaysia’s new low-cost carrier terminal to open on May 2 Return to Headlines

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd has announced that Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s new low cost terminal (KLIA2) will open as scheduled on May 2 and that cracks observed on the runway previously have been ratified. It also guaranteed that the safety of the runway, apron, taxiway and others have all been certified by the Department of Civil Aviation and a final inspection will be made before the opening of klia2
