Changi Unveils T4 Development Plans Return to Headlines

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has unveiled its plans for the development of the new Terminal 4 (T4) at Singapore Changi Airport. The new terminal will be built on the site of the old budget terminal and will have a capacity of 16 million passengers per annum, thus increasing Changi Airport's overall capacity to 82 million passengers. The new T4 development will span an area of 160,000 square metres and will handle both low-cost and full-service airlines. The new terminal will focus on self-service technologies such as check-in kiosks and baggage drops. Construction of T4 will begin this year and the terminal is expected to be completed in 2017.

 
Tauzia's POP! Hotel Opens at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Return to Headlines

Tauzia Hotel Management has opened a new hotel at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Managed under the POP! budget hotel brand, the POP! Hotel Airport Jakarta is located five minutes away by car from the airport. The property features 150 rooms and two meeting rooms. Tauzia currently operates five POP! hotels and plans to expand its portfolio to 30 properties by 2015. The new properties will be located in Bali, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Lampung, Solo, Makassar, Balikpapan, Sulawesi and Semarang.

 
First Indian Low-cost Carrier to Fly to China Return to Headlines
SpiceJet has become the first Indian low-cost carrier to offer flights between India and China. The airline has commenced flights between Delhi and Guangzhou, becoming the second carrier to fly this route after China Southern Airlines. SpiceJet operates 11 routes to seven international destinations from six airports across India. The airline's international destinations include Male, Riyadh and Dubai, with four Indian cities connecting to Dubai on SpiceJet.
 
Minor Announces Acquisition of Vietnam's Life Resorts Return to Headlines
Minor Hotel Group, operator of the Anantara hotel brand and owner of the Oaks, Avani and Elewana brands, has acquired Vietnam-based, Life Resorts. The group has acquired the luxury Life Resorts brand including the 96-room Life Heritage Resort Hoi An and the 63-room Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon for US$16 million. Bangkok-based Minor intends to rebrand both properties under the Anantara and Avani brands, respectively. The Hoi An property will be rebranded as the Anantara Hoi An Resort and the Quy Nhon property will become the Avani Quy Nhon Resort & Spa. This deal marks Minor's second acquisition over the past two years, since acquiring Australia's Oaks Hotels & Resorts in May 2011.
