According to the 2010 rankings by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Singapore has kept its position as the top convention city in Asia and the top five globally. With its many world-class MICE venues, the city-state has hosted the most rotating association meetings amongst all Asia Pacific destinations last year with 136 events. ICCA's Chief Executive Officer, Martin Sirk, has attributed Singapore's success to its hard work and creativity and also its continued investment in new facilities and human capital. Singapore looks set to consolidate its position as a prime MICE destination this year, having already secured 12 new World Congresses within the first half of 2011 alone. |
