First Jumeirah Resort In The Maldives Return to Headlines
Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company, will have its first resort in the Maldives in January 2011. The Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is situated in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, 400 kilometres south of the capital city of Malé, in an area surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. The resort features 22 island villas, as well as an exclusive water village named the Hermitage Collection, which includes 16 ocean villas that are separated from the main island. Another Jumeirah property, the Jumeirah Vittaveli, located in the South Malé Atoll, is also slated to open shortly after the Jumeirah Dhevanafushi in March 2011.
 
Makeover For The Ritz-Carlton Singapore Return to Headlines
In order to enhance guest experience, the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore recently embarked on a major transformation. All 608 rooms of the hotel will be given a makeover to offer guests a contemporary room concept featuring state-of-the-art technology. Rooms on 16 of the floors have been given a new layout and interior decor, while other changes included installing white marble flooring and rain showers in bathrooms. Energy saving LED lights and bulbs will also be used throughout the guestrooms, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to energy efficiency. The final phase of renovation, which will involve the remaining 13 storeys of guestrooms, suites and the club lounge, is expected to be completed by January 2011.
 
Singapore To Have Southeast Asia's First Park Regis Return to Headlines
StayWell Hospitality Group (SWHG) has marked its entry into the Southeast Asian market with the opening of Park Regis Singapore. The 203-room hotel, which is the group’s flagship property, was officially opened on 16 November this year. Located conveniently in the Central Business District in Singapore, the hotel caters to both business and leisure travellers with a wide range of amenities such as an outdoor lap pool, a gymnasium, a business centre, and meeting and conference facilities. SWHG currently manages more than ten Park Regis hotels, mostly in Australia, and has new properties under development in Dubai and Kuala Lumpur which are scheduled to open early 2011.
 
Yue @ Century Park In Shanghai Marks Debut Of Boutique Series By Kosmopolito In China Return to Headlines
Kosmopolito Hotels International (KHI) has announced the launch of the 264-room Yue @ Century Park, Shanghai. The design-led hotel is the first in the Boutique Series by Kosmopolito in China, joining other hotels in the Boutique Series such as the Lan Kwai Fong @ Kau U Fong, Central Park, and Cosmo Hong Kong. The hotel is located in the heart of Pudong in Shanghai, in front of Century Park, Shanghai's largest city park. The rooms at the Yue @ Century Park, which will all offer high-speed and wireless Internet access and iPod docks, have sizes ranging from 35 to 188 square metres. KHI currently owns, develops and operates 22 hotels with close to 7,000 rooms across Asia.
 
Fairmont Unveils Restored Properties Across The Globe Return to Headlines
Over the years, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has restored some of the world’s iconic hotels, keeping the history and glamour of these famous properties. They have unveiled a series of recent renovations and restorations, which include the reopening of The Savoy in London and Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. The Fairmont Peace Hotel was previously The Peace Hotel, a Shanghai landmark since 1929 and was traditionally referred to as the ‘Premier Hotel of the Far East’. The hotel was revitalised by Fairmont over a three-year period at a cost of US$65 million, which included renovations to the rooms, suites, restaurants and the addition of a new extension to the building that will house a sky-lit swimming pool.
