New Outrigger Resort To Be Developed In Vietnam Return to Headlines
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has announced an agreement with Vietnamese American Hotel and Resort Co Ltd to co-design and manage a luxury resort in Binh Dinh Province on Vietnam’s central coast, between Danang and Nha Trang. The five-star Outrigger Vinh Hoi Bay Resort and Spa, as part of the fully integrated Vinh Hoi Bay Golf Resort, will have 210 guestrooms including theme suites, and 46 private villas offering one- and two-bedroom accommodations. The development is expected to be completed by late 2013.
Regent Hotels And Resorts Returns To Asia With New Leadership Team Announced Return to Headlines
Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIHC) has announced a new leadership team for Regent Hotels and Resorts after acquiring it from Carlson Hospitality Group and Brussels-based Rezidor Hotel Group. FIHC beat over 20 other hotel groups and developers to successfully acquire the brand during an intense six-month period of competition. New Regent Chairman Steven Pan has announced the appointment of Regent Founder, Robert Burns, as Honorary Chairman and Ralf Ohletz as President.
New Pan Pacific Properties To Open In Ningbo, China By 2011 Return to Headlines
Pan Pacific Hotels Group (Pan Pacific) has announced the opening of Pan Pacific Ningbo and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo in Zhejiang, China by end of 2011. Located strategically at the gateway of an upcoming industrial and economic zone in Ningbo, the properties will be part of a mixed-used development which includes the Ningbo International Conference Exhibition Centre. The 430-room Pan Pacific Ningbo and 200-room Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Ningbo are part of the group’s strategy to establish its presence in Shanghai and surrounding cities.
Carlson Completes Acquisition Of Key Indian Partner Return to Headlines
Carlson has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the majority interest in RHW Hotel Management Services Ltd (RHW), a leading hotel management and consultancy services company in India which has been managing Carlson-branded hotels in the country since 1998. The acquisition comes after Carlson had signed agreements to open 75 Radisson«, Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM, Park Inn« and Park Plaza« hotels in Asia Pacific by 2013. Fifteen of the 18 hotels that Carlson plans to open across Asia Pacific will be located in India.
Ascott Plans Further Expansion In China Return to Headlines
As part of its expansion plans in China, The Ascott Limited has secured contracts to manage two more serviced residence properties in the country. The signing for the two properties comes after the opening of Somerset Riverview in Chengdu, China in April. The Somerset Gaoxin, Xi'an and Somerset Grandview, Shenzhen are slated to open in 2012 and 2013, respectively, bringing the group's portfolio in China to 29 properties across 13 cities.
Swiss˘tel Opens First Hotel In India Return to Headlines
Swiss˘tel Hotels and Resorts (Swiss˘tel) has added another property to its expanding global portfolio with the Swiss˘tel Kolkata. The hotel, which is the group’s first in India, is located in New Town, a few minutes from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The five-star Swiss˘tel Kolkata will offer 147 guestrooms and suites, four restaurants and bars, and 1,561 square metres of meeting and banquet space. Swiss˘tel has a portfolio of 28 hotels in 25 destinations around the world.
