Accor adds another hotel in Bangkok Return to Headlines
Accor has added a hotel to its portfolio in Bangkok, Thailand. The Fortune Hotel Bangkok is currently undergoing a major refurbishment programme and once completing in December 2004, the hotel will be rebranded Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok. The hotel comprises 400 rooms, seven food and beverage outlets and conference facilities.

Marriott to manage a serviced apartment in South Korea Return to Headlines
Marriott International has signed an agreement with Lee and Lee Asset Corporation to manage a serviced apartment under Marriott Executive Apartments lodging brand in Seoul, Korea. The Yeouido Park Tower, Seoul Marriott Executive Apartments is located at the southern end of Yeouido and is expected to open in 2006. The executive apartments are part of a mixed-use development known as Park Suites that will also include 292 individually-owned residential apartments, retail space and a 4,580-square meter health club.

Accor to adds four Sofitels in China Return to Headlines
Accor is set to add four new Sofitels in China and this will bring the total number of hotels under Sofitel brand to 16. These will include the 405-room Sofitel Xian, the 350-room Sofitel Suzhou, the 395-room Sofitel Plaza Xiamen and the 265-room Sofitel Royal Lagoon Dongguan. These hotels are located in Xian, Suzhou, Xiamen and Guangdong, respectively.

Pan Pacific Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur to launch new facilities Return to Headlines
Pan Pacific Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur announces the opening of a new spa and 11 duplex apartments in December 2004. The 20,000 square foot spa will offer a range of massages and treatments that are based on therapies from both Asia and Europe. The Duplex apartments comprise a lounge, dining area, bar counter, kitchenette and bathroom.

InterContinental Hotels Group to manage two hotels in Malaysia Return to Headlines
InterContinental Hotels Group is set to manage two hotels, namely, the Mutiara Kuala Lumpur and the Mutiara Penang in Malaysia. Owned by Arena Target Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad, the hotels will be re-branded the Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur and the InterContinental Resort Penang. The 535-room Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to re-open in December 2004 and the 438-room InterContinental Resort Penang will be launched in the third quarter of 2005.

Federal Hotels & Resorts acquires hotel in Australia Return to Headlines
Tasmania-based Federal Hotels & Resorts has acquired the 60-room Doherty Cradle Mountain Hotel in Australia from the Doherty group. The group will take over the management with effective from this October and the hotel will be renamed as Cradle Mountain Chateau.

Sunrise Beach Resort opens in Nha Trang Vietnam Return to Headlines
The 5-star hotel Sunrise Beach Resort is slated to open this month in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The resort, managed by the Stars Hotel Group, will comprise 121 deluxe and suite rooms and three open spas.
