Meet and greet the movers and shakers, and leaders of the hotel industry in Asia Pacific and top HVS leaders in Shanghai this April at the 8th China Hotel Investment Conference (CHIC). The HVS Leader Series will take place over the course of the three-day conference held at the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai from 18 to 20 April 2012.

Jebel Ali International Hotels Undergoes Rebranding And Expansion Return to Headlines

Jebel Ali International Hotels is in the process of a major rebranding and expansion programme both in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and internationally, which has taken it from four properties owned and operated in the UAE with 705 keys to five properties owned and operated in the UAE, and four properties managed for third parties in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Goa and Seychelles for a total of nine properties and 1,175 keys in five countries. All are luxury or mountain resort properties. In the pipeline are a further ten hotels from Europe to East Asia.

 
Dusit International To Debut In Hainan, China Return to Headlines

Dusit International is developing a second resort in China. The 300-room Dusit Devarana Hainan is scheduled to launch in 2013, and will be uniquely located within the rare natural 93 degrees Celsius hot springs at Seven Fairy Mountain, 80 kilometres from Sanya in Hainan Island. The resort will showcase various spring-water features, from outdoor bathing pools to en-suite bathrooms supplied with fresh hot and cold spring water. Dusit Devarana Hainan is designed as a low-rise, well-spread complex of villas and deluxe rooms with a natural mountain river cutting through the complex, adding aesthetic appeal. The resort will feature more than a dozen crafted spring-water bathing pools of varying sizes and temperatures. Additionally, both hot and cold spring water will be supplied to guest bathrooms across the resort. The resort will offer a choice of two restaurants including western and Chinese cuisines. Outdoor activities will also be available in the surrounding region, such as mountain trekking and cycling, make it a desirable recreation destination.

 
Swiss˘tel Embarks On New Hotel Project In China Return to Headlines
Swiss˘tel Hotels & Resorts is adding a new luxury hotel to its Chinese portfolio - the Swiss˘tel Chengdu in Sichuan Province. It will be the fifth hotel in China for the hotel chain of Swiss origin, and its first hotel in the west of China. Swiss˘tel Chengdu will offer 380 rooms, each around 452 square feet in size; four restaurants and bars; and ten conference rooms covering some 1,500 square metres. A PŘrovel Spa & Sport, extending over 1,000 square metres, will also be available. The hotel is due to open at the end of 2014.
 
One&Only To Open In China Return to Headlines
Kerzner International, the owner of One&Only Resorts, has announced the opening of a luxury One&Only resort in Sanya, Hainan Province, China scheduled for 2014. One&Only Sanya which will include 120 guestrooms and villas will be situated at Tufu Bay, which is currently virgin territory for tourism. The project is being co-developed by Hainan Gezhouba Industrial Co Ltd while Kerzner International will manage the property, becoming the eighth One&Only resort worldwide. One&Only Sanya will offer a variety of world-class cuisine showcasing regional specialties in restaurants overseen by internationally acclaimed chefs. The resort will also house a One&Only Spa, offering ancient Eastern traditions and holistic practices fused with modern spa therapies. In addition, meeting space will be available for bespoke gatherings. As with all One&Only properties, the resort will also boast innovative programmes for families, including the KidsOnly Club and a host of sporting and entertainment facilities on-site.
