Golf Plaza Hotel Tenerife sold to MGM Muthu Hotels

The 174-room resort Golf Plaza Hotel was acquired by the Singapore-based owner and operator MGM Muthu Hotels. The 4-star property will be rebranded as the Grand Muthu Plaza Hotel, and will be the owner’s second hotel in the Canary Islands. MGM Muthu Hotels currently own 17 hotels, ranging from 3 to 5 stars, across Europe, India and Singapore.

Frank McCourt acquires l'Epi-Plage on French Riviera for €27M

The American businessman, Frank McCourt, owner of the French football club Olympique de Marseille, acquired the L’Epi-Plage in Ramatuelle, on the French Riviera. The 10-room beach resort, renowned for its jet setter guests, was previously owned by Shahla Mauch Deyhim, and was sold at an estimated price of €27 million (€2.7 million per key). Exceptionally located on the beach of Pampelonne, the hotel sits on a 6,500 m² plot on the Mediterranean coastline close to St Tropez.  

42 The Calls Hotel in Leeds acquired by Simon Pollard

Simon Pollard, a local entrepreneur, has acquired the 41-room boutique hotel 42 The Calls Hotel in Leeds, out of administration.  The building, a 18th century riverside corn mill, previously part of the Scotsman Hotel Group, will be refurbished to create high-end contemporary suites, a Champagne Bar and riverside dining in order to restore it to its former luxury status.
