Hyatt’s Luxury Lifestyle Brand – Andaz, Makes Its Debuts in India

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of the first ‘Andaz’ branded hotel in India with the Andaz Delhi, located in the Aerocity hospitality district close to Indira Gandhi International Airport. The hotel will initially offer 401 rooms and suites, with 129 serviced apartments scheduled to follow later this year. The hotel also features over 37,500 square feet of meeting space, two swimming pools, a fitness center, a spa, a restaurant, a bar, a delicatessen and a multi-level club. The Andaz Delhi is the 16th ‘Andaz’ branded hotel worldwide and has been designed to capture the spirit of India’s capital, New Delhi.

Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre Opens in Chengdu, China

Marriott International recently announced the signing of a management agreement with Sichuan Master Investment Group to manage its first ‘Marriott’ branded hotel in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Strategically located along Tianfu Avenue, the newly-opened property is within close proximity to the Chengdu Financial City and its metro station, Yintai Centre, Tianfu Software Park and government agencies. The hotel is only a five-minute drive away from the Chengdu International Convention Centre and 20 minutes’ drive from the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The 392-key Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre features an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese resturant and a lobby lounge as well as over 3,500 square meters of meeting and banqueting space. Additional leisure and entertainment facilities inlcude a fitness center, an indoor heated swimming pool, and a chess and card room.

Le Meridien Pune Rebranded to Sheraton Grand

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, opened the Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel in Pune, Maharashtra. Owned by BrahmaCorp, this is the second Sheraton Grand and the fourth ‘Sheraton’ branded hotel in India. The hotel, earlier operated as a Le Meridien, underwent an extensive renovation prior to its rebranding. The newly renovated property features 177 rooms and suites, four restaurants, two bars, approximately 10,500 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, a swimming pool and a spa.

StayWell Enters Goa with Park Regis

Australian Hotel Management company, StayWell Hospitality Group opened its fifth property in India with the Park Regis Goa. This is the largest property under the umbrella of StayWell Group in India and the second Park Regis hotel to open in India, following the Park Regis Jaipur. Spread across five acres, the hotel features 96 rooms and suites, a coffee shop, a bar, a swimming pool, and a gymnasium. The hotel is located in Arpora, North Goa, and is in close proximity to many local tourist attractions and popular beaches such as Anjuna, Baga and Calangute.

Guangzhou R & F Properties to Invest US$3 billion to Build Hotels in Cambodia

Chinese real estate giant, Guangzhou R & F Properties Co. Ltd., unveiled its plan to invest US$3 billion within the next five years to build six-star hotels in Cambodia's capital city Phnom Penh and the coastal beach of Sihanoukville province. The investment project was announced last week during a meeting between Zhang Li, Chairman of Guangzhou R&F Properties and Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Techo Hun Sen. Zhang said that his firm has partnered with Cambodia's Royal Group, run by prominent business tycoon Kith Meng, for the mega projects.

Sarovar Hotels & Resorts Opens Fourth Property in Gujarat, India

Sarovar Hotels announced the opening of the Efcee Sarovar Portico in Bhavnagar, the group’s fourth hotel in Gujarat. The hotel features 99 rooms, two restaurants, a lounge, a fitness center, a swimming pool and a spa. Bhavnagar is the fifth largest city in Gujarat and is primarily a commercial destination.
