Denver, Colorado: March 29, 2011: HVS Capital Corp (HVSCC) announced that Bill Sipple has joined the firm as Managing Director. HVSCC is the investment banking division of HVS, the leading global hospitality consulting and services firm. The core areas of service at HVSCC are financing, investment sales, capital advisory, and the Special Hospitality Assets Group, focusing on the full-service, resort, extended-stay, limited-service, fractional ownership, and golf sectors. Sipple, who will be based in the firm’s Denver headquarters office, is one of the foremost experts in the hospitality industry, with 30 years of experience in hotel finance, development, branding, valuation, and operations. He succeeds Michael Sullivan as Managing Director. Sullivan will remain with HVSCC as a director responsible for the origination of debt, equity, and investment sales engagements.
Most recently, Sipple was President of Index Consulting Group. In this capacity, he arranged for and coordinated the successful purchase of the Regent International Hotels luxury brand on a global basis. He also asset-managed the Regent hotel portfolio in the Americas and structured and negotiated a long-term licensing agreement with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Before Index Consulting Group, he was Corporate Vice President of Development in the Americas for all full-service brands of Carlson Hotels Worldwide. In this role, he led the team responsible for seeking, structuring, and executing owned, managed, franchised, or joint-ventured opportunities for the Regent International Hotels, Radisson Hotels & Resorts, and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brands throughout North and South America and the Caribbean. Under his direction, his team at Carlson executed more than 220 agreements/acquisitions in the upscale and luxury segments.

Sipple’s hospitality experience also includes serving as regional director of development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, where his duties included product positioning for the Westin, Sheraton, Four Points, and Luxury Collection brands for the western United States. During his tenure at Starwood, he was responsible for developing over $1 billion of assets, including portfolio transactions, ski resorts, golf resorts, mixed-use developments, urban high-rise hotels, and luxury destination resorts. He also held vice president and senior vice president of development roles for Ramada Inns and Brookshire Hotels. Additionally, he led the Management Advisory Services practice for Pannell Kerr Forster’s Dallas office, and headed his own firm, Key Lending, LLC.
Sipple holds a degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, and is a member of the Cornell Society of Hotelmen and a Founding Member of the Lodging Industry Investment Council. He is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences and is a Charter Member of the Professional Advisory Committee for the Arts Institute International Hospitality Program. Sipple is a Certified Hotel Administrator with the American Hotel & Lodging Association and is a licensed Real Estate Broker.
