HVS Mexico City, established in 2007, works extensively on consulting and valuation assignments for hotels and resorts throughout Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Consulting and valuation services draw upon our broad insight and experience, along with a service-oriented culture to produce well-documented appraisal reports with fully supported value conclusions.
Our satellite office in Houston, Texas, managed by Luigi Major, handles projects through Mexico and Central America, in partnership with our Mexico City staff.
Richard Katzman, our Managing Director, has been active in Mexico and other Latin America countries since 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, and received his MBA from The Wharton School. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
The majority of our staff has hands-on hotel operating experience and extensive training in real estate and valuation techniques. We handle everything from major portfolio appraisals to single-asset consulting assignments and valuations. In 2008, for example, our office completed nearly 50 assignments representing a wide variety of products such as destination resorts, urban hotels, full-service and limited-service hotels.
The Mexico City office performs the following consulting & valuation services:
With strong concern for the environment, HVS Mexico City has substantially reduced its carbon footprint by limiting the size and quantity of printed documents, recycling and using environmentally friendly products. We support a work-from-home capability for many of our associates to reduce carbon emissions. We also purchase credits from Carbonfund.org to offset emissions associated with employee travel and office operations.
