Hans Detlefsen, MPP, is Director of HVS Global Hospitality Services in Chicago, which is dedicated to objective and independent hotel appraisals and consulting assignments. His clients include investment banks, owners, lenders, investors, developers, public agencies, non-profit organizations, and facility operators.
Mr. Detlefsen's assignments range from small, boutique hotels to large, convention headquarters hotels in major urban centers. Areas of expertise also include conference centers, extended-stay hotels, foreclosure situations, mixed-use developments, portfolio valuations, waterpark analyses, and all types of hotel feasibility and valuation studies. Hans and his staff recently appraised a portfolio of all Chicago-area Hilton properties included in the Blackstone Group's acquisition of Hilton Hotels. He is currently working on assignments in Arizona, California, Costa Rica, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington D.C.
Hans and his wife Emily live in a restored Historic Chicago Bungalow on Chicago's southside. They enjoy cooking, debating public policy, and going to White Sox games.
