Chris Elder is a Senior Project Manager with the HVS Boulder office. For over three years, he has performed numerous appraisals and consulting assignments in a variety of markets. Chris specializes in limited-service hotels and proposed hotel developments and has prepared market studies for a variety of proposed properties throughout the United States and Mexico.
Chris earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Construction Management. Chris is in the final stages of completing the educational hours needed in order to become a Certified General Appraiser in the state of Colorado. He gained valuable experience in working in the lodging industry in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This operations experience allows him to provide a level of insight and expertise critical to the hotel appraisal or consulting assignment.
Apart from work, Chris enjoys hiking, fly-fishing, skiing, backpacking, and rafting in the mountains of Colorado, with companions such as his twin brother and Aspen, his yellow lab. Steamboat Springs, Vail, and Winter Park are a few of his favorite small mountain towns. Chris is active in supporting a variety of causes in his hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado, and will begin volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the summer of 2009. When he can manage a break from work, Chris also enjoys restoring and improving his home near Old Town Fort Collins.
