Associate
HVS Executive Search is seeking an Associate to assist the Managing Director with their dedicated retail/restaurant practice.
Description of Position
The Associate will assist the Managing Director with a dedicated retail/restaurant practice that will focus on the firms’ core competencies; retained executive search, compensation consulting and corporate governance counseling. More specifically, responsibilities will include:- Assist in recruiting qualified candidates primarily for the restaurant/retail practice searches.
- Assist in all aspects of the executive search process including needs analysis and job description, research and identification, assessment, and presentation of candidate.
- Work with Managing Director to execute compensation consulting and corporate governance counseling assignments within the retail/restaurant industry.
- Help MD build quality/long-term client relationships to solidify reputation as a “leader” within the retail industry.
- Work with other HVS International divisions to aid the Managing Director in cross-selling worldwide consulting services that may be of benefit to the Restaurant/Retail segment.
Reporting Relationship
The Associate will report to the Managing Director of the Restaurant/Retail Practice, Brad Ellman.
Professional Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have a BA or BS with at least 3 years of general business experience. The preferred candidate will be entrepreneurial in nature with a marketing background. Previous consulting experience is preferred but not mandatory. The candidate must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. S/he needs to be very hands-on, with a positive can-do attitude, which reflects the company's corporate culture. S/he must have high intellect, good analytical capabilities and place a premium on performing at high levels of focus. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal (phone) communication skills as they will have regular audience with all levels of management including executive managers, external clients, and company partners. Additionally, the individual should be very well organized, computer literate, and detail-oriented. S/he will need to be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills up and down the organizational chart.

As an integral member of the team, the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion. The individual should be a detail-oriented person who can tackle numerous projects simultaneously. The successful individual must be, well organized and results-driven.
