Hostmark Hospitality Group’s Amalfi brand represents a boutique lodging concept in league with upscale offerings currently under development in South Orlando. Amalfi hotels offer a distinguished level of service crafted from beginning to end by a personal “Experience Designer” attentive to each guest’s needs. The “Amalfi experience” extends beyond the hotel itself to imbibe the dining, shopping, business, and nightlife of the surrounding city. Along with this project, Hostmark also wanted to gain perspective on the potential success of a Summerfield Suites extended-stay hotel in this expanding market.
Both hotels were proposed for The Square, a $400-million, 340,000-square-foot complex comprising upscale retail, restaurants, and nightlife. Before breaking ground, Hostmark needed to ensure that market conditions would support the firm’s investment and the profitability of the proposed hotels.
The HVS Assignment
Hostmark turned to HVS Dallas for separate feasibility studies that took into account all facets of the planned development of the two hotel sites within The Square. HVS Senior Vice President Amanda Repert led the assignment, which required “out-of-the-box” thinking and an intimate understanding of Hostmark Hospitality Group’s innovative Amalfi brand.
